19 July - latest photos from inside the church

I have not taken pictures inside the church since the base floor was poured on 5 July.  Progress is steadily being made.  The expanse of the floor is inspiring.  With the exception of the 'bloke' in the middle it is a beautiful picture.  Most the work since the floor was poured has been in the ducts around the perimeter of the church.  At this point most of the insulated heating pipes for the radiators that will be along the outside walls have been laid.  These are along the south wall.  This is across the back of the church.  This system will be in support of the basic under-floor heating system soon to be laid on top of the base floor.  The radiator based system will only need to be turned on during a serious cold snap.  The under-floor heating will be on all the time.  Thus this ability to fine tune our heating of the church should reduce our costs as well as our consumption of carbon.  The radiator system will be connected to boilers in two places; one is here by the English Martyrs' Altar.  We will be connecting the system to the old system around the sanctuary.  You can see this, also by the English Martyrs' Altar

Here is a picture from the choir loft and another one.

In the next few weeks weeks all the wiring needed (electrical, sound system, loop system and optic cable) will be installed in the duct system and outlets prepared for use.  Soon after that the insulation and piping for the under-floor heating system will commence.  It is expected that by mid-August the screed will be then poured over it.  It is still expected for everything to be finished by mid-October though it may be slipping a bit to the third week of October.  But all are happy with the progress.

Again the light is making these photos fab!
