Donations
If you are a UK taxpayer the Parish can claim back 28% tax on your donations. This is an easy and painless way to provide real help and you can now download from this site a Gift Aid Declaration Form and if you wish a Banker's Order Form for your donations.
To take advantage of these arrangements you must pay an amount of income tax and/or capital gains tax at least equal to the tax that the charity reclaims on your donations in the appropriate tax year (currently 28p for each £1.00 that you give).
In addition please note:
• You can cancel a Declaration at any time by notifying the Gift Aid Organiser at the Sacred Heart Parish.
• It is important to cancel if in the future your circumstances change and you no longer pay tax on your income or capital gains equal to tax that the charity reclaims.
• If you are a higher rate tax payer you can claim, through your annual tax return, an additional 18% of your donation.
• If you are unsure whether your donations qualify for Gift Aid tax relief ask at the Bookshop for the Gift Aid Organiser to speak with you or get a copy of leaflet IR1 13 Gift Aid from your local tax office. You can also refer to help sheet IR 65 on the HMRC website www.hmrc.gov.uk.
• Please also notify the Gift Aid Organiser if you change your name or address.
