2010 PILGRIMAGE LECTURE SERIES
In preparation for this year’s pilgrimage - In the Steps of St Paul in Greece - we have arranged the following programme of lectures, to which all parishioners will be welcome. The talks will take place in the parish lounge and a collection will be taken to help defray the costs.
THURSDAY, 29 APRIL at 7.30 pm - History and achievements of Classical Greece, covering the Hellenic, Roman and early Christian eras. Fr Peter Gallagher SJ, Head of Philosophy at Heythrop College
SATURDAY, 15 MAY from 10.30 to 15.00 - Paul's time on pilgrimage in Greece (Paul's Greek journeying: Acts of the Apostles & Paul's Greek problems: 1Thessalonians, 1 Corinthians, Philippians). Fr Nicholas King SJ, Campion Hall, Oxford
THURSDAY, 3 JUNE at 7.30 pm - The Greek Orthodox Church – history, spirituality and liturgy. Canon Hugh Wybrew, Theology Dept, Oxford University, formerly Dean of Anglican Cathedral, Jerusalem and author of several important works on Orthodox spirituality
