Dear Sadie,
As a parishioner of Sacred Heart, I would like to get to know the older members of the Church as I have recently set up a company providing non medical care and companionship to the elderly to help them maintain their independence for as long as possible.
I have set this company up as I have experience the wrong side of care when both my parents were ill and dying. I could not find anyone that I could trust to come in look after my folks, helping with every day tasks that were just too difficult for them - meal preparation, light housekeeping, medication reminders, errands and local transportation.
At Home Instead each client has a dedicated CareGiver who comes at the time they are supposed to, to encourage, stimulate and assist our clients with there needs, developing a trusting relationship.
I believe that involving the family as much as possible to ensure that they feel comforted that their loved ones are being cared for is very important. Also with one dedicated caregiver, decline in health or general wellbeing can be spotted and acted upon appropriately.
I would love to come to one of your meetings for the older parishioners so that they the elderly of Sacred Heart know that this type of service is available to them.
If you would like to know any more please do visit the website www.homeinstead.co.uk or call me on 0208 942 4137
