Come September the parish will welcome Gerard Cook as the new parish youth minister.  He comes highly recommended and, despite his youthful age, has been involved in parish youth minsitry for almost seven years.  He will receive an excellent program from James Potter.  I think all of us are very thankful for the tireless work James has put into creating the youth ministry job.  As he goes on to Wimbledon College in September, he will be able to provide some assistance to Gerard.  But Gerard can now use his own talents to develop the ministry further.  I think he is keen to develop a retreat program for the youth with possible coordination with other parishes in the deanery.  I know you will welcome Gerard warmly and this vital work will go from strength to strength.
