Josef Briffa was ordained a priest in June.  He is a Jesuit from Malta who studied theology at Heythrop College from 2006-2009.  Many of you would recognize him for he was a key member of the 5 pm church choir.  The bishop first lays his hands over Josef invoking the gift of the Holy Spirit.  Next the bishop anoits the hands of Josef in Chrism Oil, a very perfumed oil that is also used at Baptism and Confirmation.  Immediately after being ordained he is vested in the priest chasuble for the first time.

Please keep Josef in your prayers, along with all those ordained priests this year.  Please remember all those studying for the priesthood especially the 15 or so Jesuit scholastics living in the parish while they study at Heythrop..
