Yesterday I took some more pictures of the church. This week all the work is making the final preparations for the pouring of the concrete floor sometime next week. Last week I showed you the original church boiler, before its top was cut off. Here is what it looks like now with the bottom half safely beneath the soil. The new supports for the choir gallery have now been completed. See them here and here. The concrete floor will surround this making it very secure. The duct work in the back of the church will be completed this week. I saw a truck delivering concrete this afternoon, so that is probably what was being done today. We had to make some adjustments to the piling near the sanctuary. Here is a picture of what it looks like now. The main altar looks like this now. The steel is being placed across the nave around which the concrete will be poured. See here the nave from the perspective around the main altar. Here is another perspective from the side of the church. Somehow this does not look so out of place as it would have a few months ago.
