christmas mass and service times

Monday 21 December: Reconciliation service at 7.30 pm in the church. This is an opportunity for communal prayer and individual confession.


Christmas Eve: Thursday 24 December

Confessions: 10.30 am - 3.00 pm
                     4.30 pm - 6.30 pm (no confessions after 6.30 pm)

Opening of the crib: 3.30 pm
Children (4 years and over) who would like to take part in the retelling of the Christmas Story, either as actors or readers should give their names to Caroline Dunleavy ([Sorry, number no longer available]) or Davie Cronin ([Sorry, number no longer available]) as soon as possible. No previous experience necessary. Participants will need to attend a rehearsal at 10.30 a.m. on Wednesday 23rd December. There will be refreshments after the Crib Service, so please come and join us.

Vigil Mass of Christmas (Sacred Heart Mass Centre): 5.00 pm - Fr McMillan

 

Reserved seats at Christmas Eve Masses

The front four rows of seats on the left hand centre aisle (pulpit side) of the church will be reserved for frail and elderly persons until 5 minutes before the carol services begin (6.55 pm for 7.30 pm Mass and 11.25 pm for Midnight Mass). Thereafter they will be available to all.

 

Car parking

Please note that special arrangements will be in place for car parking on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day.

The 11.15 Choir will sing at Midnight Mass


The Christmas collection is for the priests of the parish who by custom distribute some of it to charity
 

 


Christmas Day: Friday 25 December

9.45 am: Carols, 10.00 am Mass - Fr Ashworth
11.30 am (Low Latin, with carols) - Fr Fairhurst
12.45pm  (with carols) - Fr Duffy

There will be no Mass at the Sacred Heart Mass Centre on Christmas Day

Please note that there are no evening Masses on Christmas Day and there will be no confessions

The parish Christmas lunch is at 12.00 noon in the Upper Hall


Feast of St Stephen: Saturday 26 December

Mass at 10.00 am only

No Mass at 8.00 am and no confessions today

After the 10 a.m. Mass there will be Exposition of the Blessed Sacrament, followed by Benediction at 11.50 a.m.

THE CHURCH WILL CLOSE AT 12.00 NOON,
but will re-open at 6.00 p.m. for the 6.30 p.m. Vigil Mass of Sunday

Today the choirs are taking a well earned rest. The 11.15 Mass will therefore be a Low Mass.
