Today we pray for all those wonderful organisations that do works of mercy and explicitly help our neighbor.  If anyone questions if faith communities provide and social benefit, please look here.  The SVP's 10 active members provide regular assistance to around 30 people. 20 volunteers, mostly young adults, provide a Sunday lunch for around five housbound parishioners.  The Raphael Pilgrimage assists in taking sick pilgrims to Lourdes.  The Jesuit Mission's Stamp Group of around 16 people help Jesuit Missions raise significant funds.  The Thursday Group has around 22 active members as parishioners journey together through all the challenges of life.  The SEB Group which accompanies families that have children with special needs.  The core group is around 10 to 25 people helping around 100 people in the parish. 

Many other activities from the soup run to faith in action, to the generations together activities bring social concerns to our thoughts and leads to actions to assist our neighbor.
