easure this month to welcome a newly ordained Jesuit priest Patrick Hough, from the New Orleans Province. Why is he here if he is from the States? Well is is an Englishman, or more exactly and Lancanshireman. He is from Hurst Green, where the Jesuit boarding school Stonyhurst College is located.
Fr. Hough was ordained in New Orleans, Louisiana in early June 2011. He will be with us until 8th August.
He will be saying mass, hearing confessions, visiting the housebound and much more. I know you will make him welcome.

It was lovely to hear the Ave Maria sang after 6.30 mass today.
Reconciliation in London
Thank you Father Keith for arranging an hour of reflective prayer for peace and reconciliation in London, in the Church last Sunday following the recent riots - a welcome antidote to the hand wringing, blame gaming and politiking that are to the fore elsewhere.
The very human touch at the end of the hour, of asking the congregation "for help" with singing the last two verses of the Pange Lingua provided momentary levity in the sombreness of the moment. The Tantum Ergo was then sung with real enthusiasm.
