The SEB Group was founded by Anna and and (the late) Louis Selo in 2001. They have a severely disabled son Sebastian, after whom the group is named. SEB stands for Seek, Embrace and Befriend....its aim is to reach out to families in similar situations.
The Group is celebrated at the 9.45 Family Mass on a quarterly basis followed by breakfast in the Lower hall. At these Masses we are seeking to gently inform and raise awareness in the Parish about some of the realities faced by our SEB families who are struggling to raise children with disabilities and special educational needs. We are trying to embrace and befriend families who may need a listening ear, practical advice and a big hug from time to time!
There is a monthly Support Group which takes place on the first Wednesday of every month except during the summer holiday. All are welcome. Members are actively encouraged to bring along those who may benefit from meeting others who are experiencing the similar joys and sorrows of raising these challenging children. The atmosphere is relaxed and welcoming and light refreshments are served. Meetings start at 8pm and are usually held at 30 Dorset Road, SW19 3HB. Please contact Louise (020 8543 5501) to confirm.
