What is Fairtrade?
Fairtrade addresses the injustices of conventional trade which traditionally disadvantages the poorest and weakest producers and enables workers in developing countries to receive a fair and sustainable price for their products. Fairtrade ensures that producers are paid a price that covers their costs of production, can benefit from longer-term trading relationships, receive the Fairtrade premium for investment in social, environmental and economic development projects, and can access pre-financing if required.
