Sacred Heart Church, in Wimbledon, a Roman Catholic parish in the Archdiocese of Southwark, and formerly served by the Jesuits of the British Province, welcomes you to our website. As one of the largest parishes in England, we hope this site highlights the dynamic community that has been a place of worship for over a century. At the heart of our parish are the many people of all ages who work, study, pray and share their lives together. We invite and encourage you to explore, discover and visit the Sacred Heart.
Here are the full details of times of Mass, confessions and other services over the Christmas holiday period until the Feast of the Epiphany (Sunday 4 January).
Details of all services for Christmas and the New Year are also available in the Christmas 2014 booklet at the back of the church. Please take a copy home, or download a copy:
In preparation for Christmas, these short reflections for each day of Advent up to and including Christmas day have been circulated by Fr John Mulligan, Dean of Merton Deanery.

Sacred Heart Christmas Crib Appeal
This year as a parish, for our Christmas Crib Appeal, we are inviting all parishioners and families to please provide one backpack for a child aged between 6-12 years old in Malawi and Kenya. We’ve teamed up with Mary’s Meals, who will send the filled backpacks to children who really need them, which will enable them attend school and gain an education that can help them escape poverty when they grow up.
THE SACRED HEART LUNCH TEAM is in need of more volunteers. We take a Sunday lunch to housebound parishioners, if you are able to help, even just one or two Sundays every quarter, please contact Ruth Kelly (ruthjkellyyahoo [dot] co [dot] uk or 07944388299)
Canon John and the Clergy invite you once again to make Christmas 2014 a Parish Day.
Come-have LUNCH at 1pm organised by Angela Maher and friends & spend the day with the Clergy and other parishioners, rather than being on your own. You will receive a warm welcome and have lots of fun.
The Finance Committee has now released the parish accounts for the first quarter 2014. The first page is the Receipts and Payments Account for the quarter ended 31st March 2014. Page 2 contains analyses of the figures in Sheet 2.
