Sacred Heart Church, in Wimbledon, a Roman Catholic parish, served by the Jesuits of the British Province, welcomes you to our website. As one of the largest parishes in England, we hope this site highlights the dynamic community that has been a place of worship for over a century. At the heart of our parish are the many people of all ages who work, study, pray and share their lives together. We invite and encourage you to explore, discover and visit the Sacred Heart.
Message from Archbishop Peter
8th June 2013
I am delighted to be able to tell you that I will be appointing Mgr. Nick Hudson to be your new parish priest when the Jesuit Fathers relinquish the parish in the autumn. I'm sorry it has taken rather a long time to give you this news, but Mgr. Hudson wanted to be able to announce the name of his successor as Rector of the English College at the same time as his own appointment to the Sacred Heart parish, and he could not do so until the appointment of his successor was confirmed. Thank you for being so patient over the past few months. I'm sure you will give Mgr. Hudson a very warm welcome when he arrives.
Now that we have finished our Deanery Mission fortnight the Sion Catholic Community who led the mission have asked for feedback from yourselves the parishioners in the Deanery.
Could you please complete an evaluation/feedback form and return to the bookshop by the 20th June.
Copies can be found in the church porch.
Or the form can be downloaded by clicking on the link below. The document may be edited and then returned by email to sadiesmith3

The Jesuit priest known as the 'Pedalling Padre' will be among the guests at Tedworth House next week, when the Duke of Cambridge and Prince Harry open the Help 4 Heroes (H4H) Recovery Centres. Father Roger Dawson SJ, who has cycled on the last three Battlefield Bike Rides and conducted the ceremonies at the memorials and the war cemeteries on the route, will be attending the event at which the H4H Centres at Tidworth, Catterick, Colchester and Plymouth will be declared officially open.
